The Gateway Course

Over the course of the semester, we worked on two main projects. The frist was a repurposing, where we would take a piece of writing done for another class and change its audience. The argument would be the same, but the form would be different. The next project was a remediation, which would build off of our repurposed piece. The remediation would have the same audience and argument, but be presented in a different medium. For my project, I repurposed a personal narrative about family, originally intended for a class and nothing else, into an article directed at potential parents. I then remediated this article into a video in which I asked two parents to talk about the hard parts of raising a family.

We also kept a class blog, on which we could share any thoughts we had about writing: the process, the frustration, or interesting things we'd heard or read.
